Can I have meals in my NDIS plan?
Well it is definitely quite possible!
But firstly, lets break down what NDIS actually stands for, because lets face it… it can be a bit confusing…
National: The NDIS is being introduced progressively across all states and territories.
Disability: The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
Insurance: The NDIS gives all Australians peace of mind if they, their child or loved one is born with or acquires a permanent and significant disability, they will get the support they need.
Scheme: The NDIS is not a welfare system. The NDIS is designed to help people get the support they need so their skills and independence improve over time.

Basically by the year 2020…
NDIS is going to assist 460,000 Australians that are living with a disability and who are under the age of 65 with funding for things that are “reasonable and necessary”. That is pretty exciting news!!
A lot of participants of the scheme often ask us “Can I have meals in my NDIS plan?” We understand there is a lot of information to digest (pardon the pun) and for many Aussies, this will be the first time they have ever received assistance.
Most participants are not aware they can receive our healthy meals to their door as a part of their plan! (If it is deemed, reasonable and necessary – see here for more info).
Am I eligible?
In your NDIS you may be eligible for Core Support and the subcategory Daily Activities – under these categories Meal Preparation and Delivery is included in your plan. Your Plan Manager will be able to tell you if this is included so don’t hesitate to ask them. We all support all forms of NDIS types from Plan Managed, Agency Managed or Self Managed.
If I am eligible, how does this work? What will I get charged?
Our ordering process is SUPER easy and we offer one-off meals or recurring options (no lock-in contracts but you will save $20 if you do choose a recurring order!) We promise that you don’t have to fill out 100 pages of paperwork to order healthy, fresh and high-quality meals to your door. NDIS will pay for 80% of your total bill. You will only be charged a small 20% co-payment of the total coast – this is because the cost of the ingredients is not covered by NDIS. And we have to pay those hard working farmers!
